Hello my fellow star girls! Hope you’re having a fabulous week! How cute is this mini wrap dress?! It’s much fun to wear, and so perfect for summer!
It’s been a crazy week for me, with changes to my website in the works (can’t wait to show you what we’re up to; planning for my upcoming trip to Spain (hello paella and flamenco dancing!); and a busy work schedule (lots of exciting projects coming up); I’ve been a bit slow on the blog posting front, so I hope you haven’t missed me too much!
I mentioned on one of my Instagram posts this week, I strive to live a very happy life and I surround myself with positive, like-minded people. I don’t have time for negativity as it’s seriously a waste of time, and when it tries to creep into my life, I shut it down like a boss!
I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned to you, but it’s taken me a lot of confidence to get myself out there, create my blog and make it into a business.
I’ve had to work on building my confidence, and I’ll let you in on a secret, I’m still continuing to improve it. I try to not second guess myself (self-doubt is a killer!), and I’m really working on not giving a damn about what other people think.
As a pisces baby, I can tend to be pretty sensitive, and get walked over and taken advantage of quite a bit. So standing up for myself can be a real struggle. However, as my boyfriend reminded me the other day, you have to go through certain experiences to become a stronger, more resilient person, and he’s so right.
Yes, there are people who don’t understand what I do, and put me down for doing something different, but you know what, I don’t care! I’ve always been different, I’ve always been independent, and I’ve always done my own thing. I’m proud of myself that I’ve stuck to my guns and been able to grow and flourish into a person I love being.
Yep, I’m parading my self-love, and why not?!
We all should love ourselves and we should all be confident to show our self-love. We live in a society rife with tall poppy syndrome, where people can’t be happy for one another, and try to bring others down because (they’re jealous) of what they’re achieving. This ‘so-called’ society tells us not to brag about ourselves and you’re a total show-off if you do. This negative way of thinking doesn’t promote self-love in the slightest, and doesn’t give people the confidence to really be proud of what they’re accomplishing.
That’s why I say stuff it! Who cares about what this ‘society’ says. I’m telling you to please not listen. Be excited about what you’re doing in life and tell the world about your wonderful wins. Don’t be afraid to show-off your self-love. Yes stay humble and be modest, but be strong and confident too.
There are the days where I feel like nothing is going right and my confidence takes a tumble. But you have to get back up. If you work hard, believe in yourself and dream big, you will achieve amazing things!
There will always be people out there that will critique you for being you. Whether they don’t like what you wear, make snide remarks about your body shape, can’t get their heads around being happy for you and your success, or will simply bitch about you behind your back because they have nothing else to talk about. But you need to forget about these people. They’re not worth your time or energy, and they’re not worth your friendship.
This is why I wanted to say thank you to YOU.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my blogging journey so far. If you’ve commented or liked a picture, sent me a message or email of support, or shared my articles (my mum is the winner of this, her Facebook is literally like a shrine of Emma haha!), it all means the world to me.
You make me feel like a total star girl, so thank you!
So babes to finish up, please remember to be a radiator, not a drain. Be positive, happy people, who are excited by other people’s success, and don’t bring anyone down. Let’s cut tall poppy syndrome out of our lives! Success, and people for that matter, will gravitate towards you if you’re nice, support one another, beam positivity, and of course have a smile on your face.
Let’s all be star girls!
Sparkle and share the love, babes, sparkle and share the LOVE.
