It was the end of November and in desperate need of running away to somewhere with sunshine and warmer weather, we jetted off to Lisbon.
With a warmer climate than the UK, this beautiful Portuguese city is a fantastic destination if you’re dying for an autumn/winter holiday, without the frosty autumn/winter chill.
With temperatures hitting around 15 – 23 degrees, the weather is perfect for undressing all the layers you cocoon yourself in in the UK.
I was so excited to get my legs out while we were in Lisbon (I obviously needed to get a spray tan before we went, I refused to give my pasty white legs any air time), especially as I had so many gorgeous pieces to wear, and the addition of tights and a thick coat would not do them any justice. I mean, have you seen the Talulah dress I wore?! Yep, you get me.
Although, I wouldn’t say Lisbon was scorching hot by any means, I believe you can still get away with wearing combinations such as:
Jumper + skirt + boots +bare legs
Blazer + dress + boots + bare legs
Long-sleeve mini dress + closed toe shoes + bare legs
Maxi/midi dress + closed toe shoes / boots + shawl
Light jacket + jeans + blouse +closed toe shoes / boots
Really wanting to give up my winter clothing for a moment, I didn’t even bring a coat with me to Lisbon, and I ended up being fine with just the light jackets I packed (my velvet blazer and checked blazer). Although, I would suggest taking a jumper with you to layer underneath the jacket, just in case you get little chilly at night.
Now for colours! Lisbon is such a vibrant and colourful city, so you’ll want to style outfits that standout and come alive against the tiled walls, the bold-coloured doors, the cute vintage trams, and the cobblestone alleyways.
This means, it’s time to get your bright, coloured and patterned pieces out. In saying that, even black works a charm (back to that dress).
If you scroll down, you’ll see I styled florals, polka dots, and block colours, such as red and green, all of which POPPED against each Lisbon location.
Hopefully my travel wardrobe will give you some inspiration on what to pack when you head to this gorgeous and very Instagrammable city.
