Melbourne is a city full of multiculturalism, vibrancy, mouth-wateringly good coffee, and even better food. There’s always something happening, be it some sort of film or fashion festival, food markets, performances, gallery showings, sporting events, the list goes on.
When we lived in Melbourne, my boyfriend and I loved staying in the city for weekends. If it wasn’t some kind of event that we were off to, you would certainly find us in one of the too good to be true coffee shops or restaurants that Melbourne is celebrated for. Sensory Lab and Chin Chin were two of our faves.
We’d also like to get in a good healthy dose of retail therapy (well I did anyway!). Bourke Street, the major shopping strip, continues to improve with the injection of international retailers H&M and Zara, as well as an impressive redevelopment of Myer. Around the corner also lies the lush new shopping centre, Emporium Melbourne. Here you’ll find anything from Topshop to Manning Cartell and Dion Lee.
Recently we stayed at The Grand Hyatt, which was just around the corner from the famous Hosier Lane; a perfect example of why Melbourne is known for its unique and super cool artistic lane ways.
If you happen to check out Hosier Lane next time you’re in Melbourne, make sure you go for a drink or a bite to eat at MoVida. You won’t be disappointed.
