The British Style Collective landed in Liverpool City Centre at the start of July and what a three day spectacular it was.
As I mentioned in my previous British Style Collective article, the city-wide takeover included a mix of events, such as catwalk shows, expert panel talks, shopping halls, fashion education exhibits, a vintage market and a fashion x dance arena performance.
We were blessed with sunshine and warm weather over the three days, so I decided to soak it up and show some skin with a mix of edgy, girly and sophisticated looks.
Here’s what I did and what I wore.
I kicked off the first day of the British Style Collective with a blogger panel talk at St George’s Hall, where myself and a few other bloggers chatted all about how to break into blogging. This was my first ever panel experience, so I was super nervous!
To calm my nerves I decided to go for an edgy x sexy look to boost my alter ego sass! I chose a one-shoulder dress from Next, which I cinched in the waist with a Black & Brown London belt, Public Desire black block heel mules, H&M statement gold earrings, and my YSL monogram bag.
I was so relieved I went for this look in the end, it gave me so much confidence. So much so, I ended up being interviewed on the BBC news (huge lifetime achievement!). Throughout the day, I jumped from the runway show to runway show (Edeline Lee was a highlight show for me), nailed my afternoon panel talk, and finally finished the day with cocktails.
After a hectic first day of the British Style Collective, day two was more relaxed. My British Style Collective partner in crime/Liverpool blogger bestie, Pingkan from Life of Pingkan, started our day with a relaxing session of yoga and vegan breakfast at White Wolf Yoga in Liverpool. I then spent a few hours at the Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar where I had an IV vitamin treatment at REVIV (more on my treatment there soon!).
After a busy morning, Pingkan and I made our way to the shopping halls for a walk around and bit of a shop. Afterwards we went to the Alcatel Fashion Arena to watch the fashion x dance arena show. My gosh what a show it was! First highlight – spotting myself on the big screen at the arena (the video I featured in for Alcatel was shown on the screen – I was so excited!). Second highlight – the show itself was magnificent, the fashion was incredible and the dancing was out of this world. Third highlight – all the good looking male models, because hellooo (Pingkan and I had quite the perve sesh – don’t tell our boyfriends!)!
For day two I went for a bit of a fun and summery look. I wore a Closet London dress, And/Or by John Lewis jacket, Next wedges and Dorothy Perkins bag. A comfy, floaty and chic outfit, perfect for shopping and watching fabulous shows (and spying on hot models!)!
After two busy days, the third and final day of British Style Collective was here. I was up early in the morning and made my way to the beautifully lush Concert Room in St George’s Hall for another blogger panel talk. Myself, Pingkan, Sabina from Fashernably Late and Steph from Scouse Bird, chatted with Antonia O’Brien about how we broke into blogging. We shared what we’ve learned on our blogging journey so far and gave our tips on how to become a blogger.
For day three I decided to go for a luxe and sophisticated look. I paired a Next peplum blouse with a Zara satin midi skirt and Next wedges, which I believe was the perfect outfit for talking about all-things girl boss!
After our panel chat, I went to explore the vintage festival, where I enjoyed a cheeky 12pm gin and browsed through the designer vintage shops. If you’re heading to the British Style Collective next year, I’d highly recommend having a walk through the vintage stalls. I spotted some fabulous vintage designer pieces from the likes of Chanel, Dior and Hermes. If I wasn’t heading to Australia the next day, I would have definitely been spoiling myself!
