It’s definitely not hard to do the Cotswolds in pure style and luxury. The stunning area of south central England is known for it’s beauty and luxury. The area, which covers six counties, including Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, is somewhere I’ve always dreamt of travelling to.
Quaint English towns full of history, super cute cottages and craft beer-flowing pubs, all of which are set in the lush English countryside – the Cotswolds is certainly a beautiful area to visit.
Our location, for a few days? Marsden Manor – the most luxurious house I’ve ever stepped foot in.
Here, myself and a few other amazing bloggers, were spoiled with delicious food and wine, pampered with massages, enjoyed beer tasting, and soaked up the sunshine while having a pool party.
Here are all the deets!
As I mentioned above, Marsden Manor was unlike anything I had ever stayed in before, let alone stepped foot in. The house is a timeless and majestic masterpiece and looks like something out of a movie, it’s that perfect.
Located in Redcomb in the Cotswolds, the stone built Marsden Manor is the epitome of historical English architecture. With wooden-beam high ceilings, heavy wood and iron clad doors, vintage paintings adorning the walls, statement fire places, a grand stair case, medieval chandeliers, and mullioned windows, you instantly feel like you’ve become a princess simply by being in the property.
Actually, you know the board game, Cluedo? Of course you do, it’s only the best board game, ever! Well Marsden Manor reminds me so much of the period house in Cluedo. Yep, cool huh?!
The house itself has ten bedrooms, and sleeps 20 all up. Each bedroom, although decorated in a different period style, screams pure luxury, relaxation and comfort. I was lucky enough to be in the bedroom at the back of the house, which had three grand windows that looked out onto the gardens and the pool.
The bed was honestly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept it. You could tell the linen was quality, and the pillows were like sleeping on clouds. As I mentioned in my Insta Story, I wanted to find a way to take the bed back home with me, as it was that amazing! I’m still dreaming about it now!
Now if you think the bedrooms sound fabulous, you can just picture how gorgeous the bathrooms are. Vintage baths, big shower head showers and heated towel rails. They were just luxurious. I wish I had time to have a lovely soak in the big bath, with a vanilla candle burning brightly and a flute of champagne in hand.
There is plenty room to socialise in Marsden Manor too. With several dining and living areas, filled with picture perfect furniture you can spend the whole day enjoying each section of the house – Spend breakfast in the kitchen; read a magazine while sipping on a cuppa in the morning room; create a big foodie spread on the large dining table for dinner; get competitive in the games room; and enjoy a night-cap by the fire. Sounds like the perfect day to me!
The house is set on a huge piece of land in the countryside where you’re free to roam and spot horses and sheep, and of course soak up that country air.
The gardens of the property are ginormous. You can picture having your own fancy little party out there, with flowing Pimms and canapés, or even a barbecue! I could definitely enjoy plenty of summer nights relaxing in the garden and having laughs with friends and family. Not only can you spend time in the garden, you can relax by the pool, or take a swing on the tennis court.
Could this place get any more perfect?!
Marsden Manor is the perfect location for anyone looking for a big house to hire out for a holiday. If you’re in need of a big family get-together holiday, or are celebrating a certain occasion with friends, Marsden Manor needs to be your go-to!
It’s a magical, idyllic, glorious spot, that’s pure English countryside paradise.
Take me back!
The Food & Drink
While we stayed at Marsden Manor we were spoiled for choice with food and drink.
The Blogger Programme organised breakfast for us and my gosh, we were in breakfast heaven! We had a huge selection to choose from – croissants, granola, eggs, avocado on toast, mixed berries, cake (yes you can have cake for breakfast…on holidays!) and lots of coffee!
The first night we enjoyed an incredible Mexican feast, thanks to Hello Fresh. This included salads, roasted veggies, DIY tortillas, cheesy bakes and mixed beans. Boy it was delicious… and not to sound cheesy, but it was seriously so fresh!!
For our final night in Marsden Manor, Las Tapitas, a local Spanish catering company, came in and put on a huge tapas spread. Having just arrived back from Spain, I was so thrilled to be having classic Spanish food again, and my gosh it was authentic as they come!
I piled my plate high with the canapés, olives, patatas bravas, a mixed veg salad and more, and I loved everything! Las Tapitas – you’ve made me want to go back to Spain, ASAP!
Throughout our stay we sipped on a selection of wine from Sporting Wine Club. You all know, I’m a wannabe wine connoisseur, so I had to taste most (if not all) of the selection, and I must tell you I was thoroughly impressed! Fine wine at it’s finest!
The Blogger Programme put on a fabulous action packed day of activities while we were staying at Marsden Manor. To start our day right, we went for a walk in the beautiful countryside where we took in the fresh air.
After our walk, it was pamper time! Blossom & Jasmine, a luxury beauty company who offer a range of first-class beauty treatments, came to Marsden Manor and provided us with fabulous manicures and relaxing massages.
I hadn’t spoiled myself with a pamper sesh in so long, so for me, it was pure bliss! As the weather was so beautiful, we were able to have the treatments outside, which made the experience even more relaxing!
It was then time for a pool party! We chilled by the pool while enjoying prosecco and Pimms, and basked in the glorious sunshine!
After our time in the sun, we made our way to a local family-run brewery, Tap Brewery, which was just around the corner from Marsden Manor. We were shown around by one of the owners, who was so lovely and had a clear passion for what he did. We tasted a couple of beers – an American styled beer and a UK styled beer, and both were equally as delicious.
The Pamper Box
To make our stay even more luxurious in the Cotswolds we were gifted a gorgeous selection of goodies. The hamper included a stylish rose gold watch from Ice Watch; a delicate bracelet from Thomas Sabo; perfume, a face mask, lipstick and tinted moisturiser from Charlotte Tilbury; White Glo teeth whitening; and the comfiest slippers from Soak & Sleep.
Now that’s a hamper of all things fabulous!
We had such a luxe and relaxing few days at Marsden Manor. It was so nice to get out of the city for a while, and we didn’t want to leave. We’re already asking – when can we go back?!
Luxury, style, sunshine, peace and quiet, pampering, and good food and fine wine – all in one place! Now that’s my kind of holiday!
