We spent a week in India, but anyone who has been there will tell you, that ain’t a lot of time! With exploring Delhi to do, catch ups with friends to be had, and wedding celebrations to take part in, we didn’t have a huge amount of time to visit every magical area of this unique and colourful country.
The one area we would be silly not to visit however, is the home of two of the most incredible structures in the world, Agra.
Agra is of course famous for the one and only Taj Mahal (more on our visit there in a later post), but it’s also known for the decadent, Agra Fort.
The world heritage site, former residence of the Mughal Dynasty emperors (yes, I learnt a little history in between shots!), and sister of the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort is a definite must visit.
With a mix of marble and red sandstone walls, and intricate mosaic work and carvings, each corner you turn, you can’t help but see something new. It’s honestly a blogger’s, photographer’s, decor-lover’s, architect’s, designer’s, and of course stylish traveller’s, heaven.
Yes, there are no words to describe how magnificent the Taj is, but Agra Fort isn’t all that bad either!
Keeping in mind we would be looking at these pictures for years to come, I chose to wear something striking and elegant for our visit. My long sleeve midi dress with an oriental pattern of florals and birds was of course the perfect choice.
Wanting to add a bit of golden royalty to the look, I teamed the dress with (the comfiest and most stylish shoes around!) backless loafers, and statement gemstone earrings. Finally, I added a touch of cool with some dark gold-metal shades.
A simple, effortless, yet angelic look, perfectly suited to the location, Agra Fort.
Enjoy exploring this wonderful structure with me.
This is how you do florals for the home…
They say it’s “all in the detail”…
Feeling like an empress…
Just look at that symmetry…
My kind of doorway…
White marble walls, mosaic features & sunshine… it’s a blogger’s picture-perfect paradise.
