3 Good Looking Brands your Beauty Cabinet Needs

Beauty

They say you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I have to admit, I kind of do anyway.

Good branding and packaging is something that makes me super excited. Maybe it’s the marketer in me, but if I see a brand or product that looks beautiful, I’m instantly attracted to it. Other people may say ‘oh that looks pretty’, but I say ‘damn, that’s good branding’. I do have my smarts about me though, and know even though a product may look good, doesn’t guarantee that they’ll actually do their job.

I know haven’t popped up a beauty post for a while, but I’ve been trying some fabulous (looking and working) products recently and I love them so much, I had to tell you about them!

These beauty brands all have very attractive packaging, and all deserve a spot in your bathroom. They’re the kind of products you actually want to show off so your bathroom looks, #Instaworthy and #bathroomgoals, and looks straight out of those picture perfect bathrooms in Vogue Living.

Not only do they look gorgeous, they work really well too, oh and smell delicious!

Kama Ayurveda

I came across Kama Ayurveda while I was in India and was instantly attracted to their luxurious Indian-styled packaging and the beautiful natural ingredients they use. Known as a cult beauty brand, Kama Ayurveda specialises in a range of products, including skincare, haircare and spa products. Over the past six months or so, I’ve taken a real interest in Ayurveda, so I was so excited to find a beauty brand that was completely Ayurvedic. Another huge plus for me is that Kama Ayurveda is 100% natural, vegetarian and they only use the highest quality ingredients.

I ended up splurging when I was in their shop in New Delhi, but I’ll quickly tell you about two of my fave products!

The Pure Rosewater is a MUST try. It smells so incredible and is so refreshing! I spritz it on my face and neck after I’ve cleansed, and let it do it’s thing before I moisturise 10 or so minutes later. It tightens my pores and leaves my skin feeling soft and radiant.

I also recommend the Organic Sweet Almond Oil. It actually smells like sweet almond – yep, talk about yummy! I pop it on all over my body, including my hair and face, and leave it to work in for around 30 minutes, then I wash it off in the shower. My skin feels instantly soft, supple and completely nourished.

Percy & Reed London

I came across Percy & Reed London when they kindly sent me a few products to try. As soon as I saw the products I fell in lurrrrve with their super gorgeous packaging. They have cute little illustrations of very glamorous women with glorious hair parading on their products. These women are so fabulous, you actually want to be them. I know that sounds weird, but I’m literally aspiring to have their hair!

I’ve only tried a few of Percy & Reed’s products, but I’m already in love with the brand. The Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Treatment Oil was gorgeous to use. I work it through dry hair and let it soak in for five or so minutes before I wash it out with shampoo and conditioner. I then blow dry my hair, and voila, my hair feels smooth and looks shiny and healthy. Best of all, it doesn’t go greasy for days afterwards, whereas normally my hair will go greasy pronto. I’ve also used the oil as an after wash treatment, and I’m not kidding you when I say my hair is SO beautiful, soft and radiant once I dry it.

I was also lucky enough to have my hair braided by one of the Percy & Reed stylists at a John Lewis event I went to the other day, and I was so impressed! I can’t for the life of me braid my hair, or style it very well for that matter. So I loved seeing the stylist work their magic and transform me into a Grecian goddess, with hella good hair! I’d now love to go into one of their salons to see what it’s like. I’m sure it would be oh so fabulous. Maybe I’ll end up having hair like the illustrated ladies after all!

Lipstick Queen

Lippy lovers out there, you neeeeeed this brand in your life! Lipstick Queen is THE QUEEN of lipstick brands. I’ve only tried two of their lippies, but I already know I’m going to be a fan for life.

Created by a fellow Australian (a fellow Melbourne babe to be exact), Lipstick Queen was created by Poppy King after not being able to find the perfect lipstick. Twenty years on and she’s built a fabulously vibrant lipstick empire with the aim of helping everyone find the perfect lippy.

Not only do Lipstick Queen have uber cool, colourful and creative branding, they also have super fun names for their products, some of which include, Frog Prince, Liptropolis, Let Them Eat Cake and Seven Deadly Sins. I personally own the Cupids Bow pencil in Apollo, and it’s the best deep purple matte lipstick I’ve tried. I normally don’t wear matte lippies as they dry out my lips way too much, but with Cupids Bow, they’re completely hydrated. I just love it.

But now for the coolest lipstick I’ve ever come across, Mornin’ Sunshine. This incredible lippy is yellow in looks, but works with your PH to transform into unique coral/watermelon colour when it hits your lips. Yep, it’s magic! Enriched in Vitamin E and sunflower oil, Mornin’ Sunshine not only a fun product, it’s nourishing too!
