Having travelled on my fair share of long-haul flights over the years (particularly to and from Australia and the UK), I know how much they can play havoc on your skin.
The air conditioning dries your skin our like no tomorrow. From experience, you can end up at your destination looking like you’re 20 years older and haven’t slept for about two weeks.
Yes, you are bound to look tired, but looking after your skin while you fly, can do wonders.
I have to admit, I never really took as much care of my skin on flights as I do now, and I tell you what, it’s made such a difference.
I have flown from the UK to Australia and back again twice this year, so I have really been able to put certain skincare products to the test.
These have been my go-to products.
Votary Facial Oil
I started using Votary Facial Oil at the beginning of the year, and I’m obsessed.
It’s my everyday facial oil, but during flights, I apply it about ten times, no joke.
I pop a few drops of the oil onto my palms, rub them together and then smell the oil. The jasmine and calendula together create such a beautiful and relaxing smell, so it’s really calming while you fly.
I then apply the product in circular motions to my face and neck, and find, especially while I’m flying, it soaks into my skin immediately, leaving it rejuvenated, nourished and refreshed.
Can’t recommend enough!
Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist
This mist has also been one of my go-to products this year. It’s not only fantastic for a refreshing pep-up in-flight, it’s wonderful to spray anytime you need a moisture boost or a post-cleanse tone.
The mist is scented with neroli and rose, which is lovely, light and subtle – so you nee-dint be worried about turning any heads on the plane due to a strong smell.
It instantly hydrates your skin, leaving it supple, firm and younger-looking due to the product’s Hydro Mineral Transference™, which delivers minerals deep into the skin.
Don’t board your flight without this product, your skin will thank you!
By Sarah London Organic Lip Balm
By Sarah’s Organic Lip Balm is my everyday go to, I love it.
100 per cent organic and 100 per cent vegan, the lip balm is created with a combination of three incredibly skin-nourishing ingredients, coconut oil, apricot oil and beeswax.
Flying makes my lips so dry, so this balm is the perfect little companion on your flight to ensure you have juicily kissable lips when you arrive at the other end!
REN Skincare Cleanse & Reveal Hot Cloth Cleanser Set
The REN Skincare Cleanse & Reveal Hot Cloth Cleanser set is such a great combination.
The two-way cleanser is easy to use and so results driven!
The beautifully creamy Rosa Centifolia™ formula is a gentle, purifying and hydrating cleanser, and the hot muslin cloth simply removes all dirt and makeup, while exfoliating the skin.
I have tried many cleansers, and this has to be one of my favourites. It seriously gets rid of makeup, and it’s so quick and easy to use.
The cleanser is 100ml so it can be easily added to your liquid carry-on. Then, while you fly, or during your stop-over, apply the cleanser onto dry skin. Pop the cloth under hot water and then place over your face to open pores and gently polish the off the cleanser. Rinse your face with cold water and then dry.
The set comes with two muslin cloths and a 100 per cent recycled travel bag.
Skin Laundry Hydrating Radiance Facial Treatment Mask
I haven’t been brave enough to pop on this hydration mask during my flights… yet (good on you if you are brave!)!
However, I found Skin Laundry’s Hydrating Radiance Face Mask a true gem to use once I arrived at my destination.
My skin already tends to look pretty plump after all the maintenance I do during the flight, but the mask adds yet another injection of hydration and healthy minerals. This ensures my skin is bright and radiant for the next few days.
The mask also helps to minimise pores and leaves your skin lovely and smooth.
An at home facial in 15 mins after a long-haul flight, yes please!
