To celebrate their newly launched beauty section, I’ve collaborated with Farfetch to let you in on some of my beauty secrets!
From skincare, to makeup, and haircare, I’ve listed all my signature beauty items to give you some inspiration. I’ll also let you know what I have on my Farfetch beauty-lust (get it, get it?!). These are the products I’m really dying to get my hands on, and do really need!
I hope you enjoy beauties!
My Skincare Routine
After using Clinique for years and years, I recently made the move to Kiehl’s. Changing skincare can be risky business as you have no idea how your skin is going to react. Thankfully for me, the transition was easy and my skin has thoroughly enjoyed the change.
My facecare routine goes a little something like this:
I love using a gel or foam cleanser when it comes to washing my face. I soak my face with warm water, then massage a little bit of Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash on my face for 1-2 minutes. I then rinse my face with warm water and dry with a towel. Despite not having little exfoliator beads in the liquid, the Kiehl’s cleanser is fantastic and really clears all the dirt away.
Toning is such an important part of your skincare regime. I recently got my boyfriend onto it as he has naturally big pores. Since using toner, his pores have shrunk and skin has improved in leaps and bounds, it seriously looks the most radiant it ever has. If you don’t already use a toner, make sure you start!
So, after cleansing I pop a little bit of Kiehl’s Calendula Floral-Extract Toner on a cotton pad, dab it on my face, and wait 30 seconds or so for it to dry.
Since moving to the UK from Australia my skin has changed SO much. It’s the driest it has ever been, and I really think it’s aged a huge amount… probably because it’s so dry all the time! Since turning 25 earlier this year, to my shock horror I’ve noticed fine lines starting to appear and deeper frown lines. I thought, I better do something about this, so I started looking into anti-ageing products.
While I was at Kiehl’s, the shop assistant recommended their Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream. The cream is super creamy and thick, but it goes on smooth and light, and I’ve found it totally fine to wear under my makeup.
Makeup removal –
To remove my makeup I put some Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton pad and wipe away. If I’m wearing heavy makeup I tend to also use face wipes, such as Garnier Cleansing Wipes or Milk & Co Beauty Wipes.
Farfetch beauty-lust –
Now I have my basic skincare regime down pat, I’d love to expand my product range and try a few brands from Farfetch’s newly launched beauty section. To brighten up my skin that little bit more, I really want to try a face serum, such as the By Terry Cellularose Brightening Serum.
Even though I’m currently not using one, I believe an eye cream is a must for your skincare regime. I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I love the look of the Eve Lom packaging, so I’d love to try the Eve Lom Triple Action Formula Eye Cream.
I’d also like to get into the routine of using a face mask once a week for a deeper clean and cleanse, and a moisture boost. Clarks Botanicals Deep Moisture Mask sounds amazing and is definitely high on my beauty-lust!
I have to admit I’m awfully lazy when it comes to moisturising my skin. I know you’re meant to do it everyday after you get out of the shower, but I normally have showers in the morning, and I always find it so hard to get my clothes on after I moisturise! That’s why when I do remember to moisturise, I generally do it before I go to bed.
Recently my go-to products have been from Dove. I’m not a huge supermarket beauty fan, but it’s so easy to just pick up their products when you’re already at the supermarket doing the grocery shopping.
For general moisturising –
I’ve been using Dove Derma Spa Goodness Body Lotion and I’ve found it really lovely. It’s nice and thick, and your skin instantly feels smoother and rejuvenated.
For tinted moisturising –
As the sun is coming out more and more in the UK (YAY to summer!), I’ve been getting my arms and legs out of hibernation. My skin is literally as white as Snow White, so I love to pop on some tan to give me a little colour.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been using Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion, and oh my gosh it’s amazing. After one application a light tan appears, and the more you use it, the more the tan builds. It’s not streaky in the slightest and because of the added moisture, it keeps your skin so nice and soft.
Farfetch beauty-lust –
As I mentioned earlier in the article, since moving to the UK my skin has become so crazy dry, and I’m yet to find a good hand cream that fixes my awfully dry hands. I’ve heard amazing things about Diptyque products, s0 I’d love to try their Velvet Hand Lotion from Farfetch.
In the tanning department, I’ve also heard incredible things about James Read tanning products, another range at Farfetch. So I’d love to try out their Day Tan Body Gradual Tan to see what all the fuss is about!
My Makeup Musts
If I list all the products I use to apply my makeup you’ll literally be here all week, and that’ll make for a very boring article! So I’ve decided to let you in on my some of my makeup favourites. These are the special products I need to have in my life, and yes there’s lots of Nars!
So I joined the zillions of people who use Nars Orgasm Blush. It’s seriously the best blush I’ve ever used, and I totally understand why it’s a ‘Cult Classic’.
For bronzer, I use Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna. Just like the Nars blush, this bronzer is the best I’ve ever used! It gives me the best natural bronzy glow and is so easy to manipulate and blend in on my face.
I only joined the highlighting club a few months ago, and I most definitely won’t be leaving. I use Nars Illuminator in Copacabana on the tops of my cheeks, my cupids bow, underneath my eyebrows, on my nose bone, and on the middle of my forehead. Yes, I pretty much put it everywhere! Sometimes, when I want a natural all over glow, I pop it all over my face before I do my foundation. If you haven’t invested in this product yet, I highly recommend you do, it’s pure heaven in a tube!
Even if I’m leaving the house with no makeup on, I’ll still pop a little something on my brows. I naturally have quite light eyebrows, so to define them I need to use eyebrow pencil and brow gel. I’ve just started using Nars Brow Perfector in Caucase and Nars Brow Gel in Oural, and I’m loving them. They help to give me a natural yet strong looking brow, and the gel is especially amazing at setting my brows in place.
For everyday use, Mac Lustre Lipstick in Hug Me is my go-to. I really wanted to get the Velvet Teddy colour everyone was raving about, but matte lipsticks just make my lips dry out way too much. The Hug Me is amazing as it’s slightly glossy so doesn’t dry out my lips, and it’s in a beautiful light brown colour, so it’s perfect for any occasion!
Farfetch beauty-lust –
I’m so obsessed with Farfetch’s range of makeup brands, I literally want everything! I’ve been looking for a good liquid eyeliner for ages now so I’d really love to try the By Terry So Black Ligne Blackstar Eyeliner, it looks and sounds fabulous. I’m also in desperate need of some new eye shadow colours, so I’d love to try the By Terry Eye Designer Palette. Who doesn’t love a good eyeshadow palette?!
My hair is naturally thin, flat and super straight, and it’s really not that much fun to play around with. So I’ve had to invest in a couple of products to help give it a little extra oomph. These products include:
Volumising moose –
I love Australian brand Kevin Murphy, they have the yummiest products that smell AMAZING! Their Body Builder Volumising Moose is my ultimate hair product, I can’t live with out it. I pop it in after I wash my hair and it straight away gives my fine hair a little va va voom and so much body.
Hair serum –
Eleven is another Australian brand I absolutely love! I’ve been using their Miracle Hair Treatment for years and believe me, it really is a miracle treatment! It helps with split ends, flyaways, moisture, and much more! Just like volumising moose, I pop the treatment in just after I’ve washed my hair.
Farfetch beauty-lust –
I’ve been looking for a new brand of shampoo and conditioner for ages. I’ve been using a supermarket brand over the last few months and it’s a little too harsh on my hair. I’d love to try the O&M Fine Intellect Shampoo and Conditioner from Farfetch, I love the sound of the native Australian ingredients they use.
