Many say Melbourne is the fashion capital of Australia, and with numerous shopping areas and hundreds of fabulous boutiques, they’re quite right.
If you’re wondering what the ladies wear everyday in this fashionista’s paradise, don’t worry I’m here to help! I’ve put together three different outfits, suitable for the Melbourne-like activities you’ll most likely experience while you’re there. Yes coffee drinking and amazing food eating are of course involved.

Yoga/Barre class with brunch afterwards
Boutique yoga and barre studios are popping up all over Melbourne. If you’re interested in trying a class or two, my personal faves are Humming Puppy Yoga and Barre Body. So do as the Melbournians do and stretch it out in class, then treat yourself to a delicious brunch at one of city’s many funky cafes afterwards. You’ll fit in fine wearing this outfit below, or something similar! P.S. How amaze are those Nikes?!
Top – The Upside Tara-Logo Print Tank / Jacket – Adidas by Stella McCartney Essentials Melange Hooded Sweatshirt / Pants – Nike Epic Printed Dri-FIT Stretch-Jersey Leggings / Bra – Nike Pro Fierce Printed Dri Fit Stretch Jersey Sports Bra / Sneakers – Nike Air Max 90 Premium Leather and Suede Sneakers / Backpack – Longchamp Le Pliage Neo Medium Backpack / Sunglasses – Thierry Lasry Butterscotchy Cat Eye Acetate and Metal Sunglasses / Yoga Mat – Adidas by Stella McCartney Yoga Mat
Coffee date & shopping day
Give me coffee and shopping any day! The people of Melbourne are not only obsessed with shopping, they also LOVE (love, love, love, love x 1000000) coffee too. After your morning exercise and yummy brunch, head out for a shopping trip for the day. Then, to regain some energy, make sure you do as the Melbournians do and have a break with a coffee pitt stop, it won’t be hard to find a cool coffee shop nearby! Melbourne is known to have four seasons in one day, so a layered outfit with a vest or jacket and a hat should do you just fine.
Top – Witchery Aka Flared Top / Pants – Country Road Side Pocket Sateen Jean / Vest – Seed Heritage Quilted Vest / Shoes – Seed Heritage Aurora Block Heel / Bag – Country Road Miranda Tote / Hat – Zara Felt Coin Hat / Rings – Country Road Hexagon Ring, Country Road Long Bar Ring / Necklace – Country Road Tassel Loop Necklace
Dinner & cocktails
Black on black on black is a Melbourne favourite fashion wise, so you’ll definitely fit in by wearing the outfit below. I personally buck the black trend a little and add a little bit of a colour statement to my outfits. By adding beautiful blush pink and rose gold I believe you’ll be sure to stand out in the most fashionable way possible. How much are you dying to get your hands on those Sophia Webster babies – I know I am!
Dress – Camilla & Marc Lois Lane Asymmetric Dress / Jacket – Zara Cropped Jacket with Zips / Bag – Zara Plain Cross Body Bag / Shoes – Sophia Webster Flamingo Frill Leather Sandals / Earrings – F+H Jewellery The ‘Johnny’ Quartz Gemstone + Cross Earring / Bracelet – F+H Jewellery The ‘Spike Jonze’ Succulent Wrist Cuff / Rings – F+H Jewellery The ‘Brian’ Cross Ring, F+H Jewellery The ‘Akita’ Ring, F+H Jewellery The ‘Shibuya’ Chain Ring, F+H Jewellery The ‘Hyogo Twist Ring

As a Melbournians I so love the concept behind this post. I think my essential Melbourne outfit is definitely an ‘out to brunch’ look.

This is such a fab idea for a post, sweetie! I loved seeing all the looks and reading about them, so amazing to learn what girls love to wear on the other side of the world!
Love all the looks as they are all so different and serve a different purpose. The last one has to be the top one, purely because of how chic it is and because of those Sophia Webster Flamingo Frill sandals – IN LOVE!
Amazing post, lovely!
