Isn’t it the best when you stay at a hotel and love everything about it?! One of the highlights of our stay in Benidorm was the beautiful Meliá Villaitana. The 5 star resort was honestly one of the most luxurious places I’ve ever stayed in.
From the moment you arrive, you’re immediately whisked into a Mediterranean paradise. You feel like you’ve entered a Spanish palace in a little Spanish town, and you know you’re in for a fabulous stay.
We stayed at Meliá Villaitana for three nights when we were exploring the alternative (and must I say, gorgeous) side of Benidorm with Jet2holidays and Visit Benidorm. The three nights were pure bliss – from the lush bedrooms, to the five idyllic swimming pools, the grand architecture, and not to mention the delicious and very extensive breakfast buffet.
This Instagram-worthy resort is a place of holiday dreams.
Meliá Villaitana is unlike any hotel or resort I’ve been to before. The traditional Spanish architecture is the first thing you notice, and appreciate the whole time you stay. You feel like you’ve been transported to a movie set, the buildings are so perfect, clean, beautiful, and very, very colourful.
Meliá Villaitana is like a little village in itself, there’s so many areas to explore and plenty of areas to take a photo. There’s even a church on the grounds, where I have to say, would be a magical spot to get married.
Set inland, away from the hustle and bustle, Meliá Villaitana is located a 15-minute drive from Benidorm’s main town and forty minutes from the airport.
You have everything you need at Meliá Villaitana, so if you’re looking for a real “I don’t want to leave the resort” kind of holiday, this is the ultimate spot to escape to. However, if you’re up for exploring Benidorm, this is still the perfect place to stay. Jump in a taxi and you’re in town in no time.
Although the resort is located more inland, you still get incredible views of the city and the coast of Costa Blanca.
A resort where you can get both peace and quiet, and be close to the city’s town, attractions, beach and restaurants… sounds like paradise to me.
The resort has a wide range of fabulous rooms to choose from to suit your budget and preference. We stayed in premium rooms, which were huge and very opulent!
The bed was king size and so plush to sleep on, who doesn’t love a comfy bed?! There was a little lounge area to sit down and relax in in front of the TV, and a big balcony where you could spend your mornings soaking up the fresh air, while taking in the picturesque view.
I always judge a place by their bathrooms, and I can’t even describe to you how grand the bathrooms were. Lots of room to pamper yourself before heading out for the day, and a big bath to soak in in the evening.
Oh I can’t forget to mention the walk in wardrobe too, which came with its very own shoe rack – a shoe lover’s dream!
Are you a water baby or sunbathing queen? No matter who you are, you can find your own pool area paradise at Meliá Villaitana.
I would say most of the resort is a pool, everywhere you look, you see a tropical spot perfect to sit and enjoy a cocktail, or spend hours flicking through Vogue while soaking up the sunshine.
If you’re a beach babe, there’s also a ‘beach pool’ area accessorised with sand and palm trees. Yep, I’m telling you there’s literally everything you need at this resort!
From granola and yoghurt pots, French pastries galore, sweet treats like waffles and churros, to tropical fruit platters, traditional hot English breakfast, and a cheese board to top all cheese boards, the breakfast at Meliá Villaitana is one you do not want to miss.
If you fancy a champagne breakfast, you can totally do that too. Wine is also available for you to have….if drinking at 9am isn’t too early for you!
Wine and cheese in the morning?! A pretty fabulous start to the day if you ask me!
Fancy rejuvenating and relaxing at the spa, or popping on your sneakers for a hit of golf? You’re in luck!
Meliá Villaitana has a first class, luxury spa that offers a range of treatments and beauty rituals, such as massages, facials, and hairstyling, and wellbeing rooms with Turkish baths and hydrotherapy pools – hello bliss!
To up your relaxation levels, soak up that fresh air and enjoy some exercise! Jump in the golf buggy and head to the two golf courses the resort has to offer – they have views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Finestrat Mountains, talk about amazing! You can also participate in exercise classes such a yoga and tai chi, or if the gym is more your thing, Meliá Villaitana has one too!
How incredible is Meliá Villaitana?! I’m dying to go back! It was the epitome of pure luxury and relaxation.
