A Luxury City Break at Melbourne Marriott

When I visit Melbourne, I always love staying in the city. In my opinion, it’s one of the best cities in the world to shop, eat, drink, explore and be entertained. You can’t be bored in Melbourne with the incredible amount of shows, exhibitions and sporting events the city holds; you also can never go hungry, with the best foodie scene the country has to offer; and as it’s a fashionista’s paradise, your credit cards will always be maxed.

Tim and I were super excited to stay in the city a few times while we were in Melbourne. One of these times was at the luxurious Melbourne Marriott.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, which makes it the perfect place to stay for both a staycation, or if you’re travelling from abroad.

Here’s what I loved about it.

Fantastic Location

Located around the Paris-end of Melbourne city, on the corner of Exhibition and Lonsdale Streets, Melbourne Marriott is in the prime location for city exploring. It’s so close to everything, including Parliament House, Melbourne Museum, Princess Theatre and Her Majesty’s Theatre; some of the main shopping areas, such as Bourke Street, QV, Emporium; and high end stores, like Chanel, Gucci and Dior.

It’s also close to some of the best restaurants and bars in town, including Chin Chin, Trunk, Higher Ground, Longrain, Punch Lane, Siglo, Neapoli, City Wine Bar, Cumulus INC, Gazi, the list goes on.

The other side of the city is just a short walk away too! You can reach the Arts Centre, National Gallery of Victoria, Federation Square and Crown in about 15-20 minutes.

Big Room with a Big Bed

The King Suite was lush! With two rooms, including a lounge, with TV and sofa, kitchenette, work space, and a separate bedroom with a style-lover’s dream walk-in wardrobe and ensuite – it was so big, we felt like we had our own apartment in the city.

The bed was fabulous too! Nothing better than a comfy king size bed to come home to and enjoy a restful night’s sleep. The bed was so huge, it felt like my partner and I were sleeping in separate beds. I woke up and said ‘oh there you are!’, as I had lost him in the night!

Chic Bathroom

Marble bathrooms instantly win me over. They have this luxury essence about them, and of course are always so ‘Instagrammable’.

I Loved the Breakfast

Hello breakfast heaven! We enjoyed the buffet breakfast so much, we pretty much spent the whole morning eating! The Marriott offer everything from hot breakfasts, cereals, fruit, pastries, waffles, fresh juices, and even almond milk cappuccinos! Yum!

Room Service was like Fine Dining

The room service was amazing! We ordered a mix of dishes, including the cheese board and vegetarian pasta, and they were to die for! While we ate, we sipped on a delicious De Bortoli bottle of red wine, which was the perfect pairing with cheese and pasta. For in-room dining, the experience was fabulous, and very Italian, don’t you think?!

A Hotel Perfect for…

Visiting Melbourne!

But in all seriousness, the Melbourne Marriott is a fabulous hotel for all kinds of stays:

Perfect for business people, as it’s located right in the city and close to the business hub.

Amazing for city staycations if you’re a Melbournite and would like a romantic weekend away in the city.

Wonderful for travellers if they are wanting to explore Melbourne while enjoying some luxury

Fantastic for foodies, fashionistas and entertainment-lovers, as it’s close to the best restaurants, shops and entertainment venues in the city.

As I said, it’s the hotel for everyone!

The Verdict

I loved staying at Melbourne Marriott and was impressed with every aspect of our stay. The service was premium, the room was spacious and luxurious, the food was delicious, and as it’s in such a great city location, you can’t get much better! Thanks for having us, Melbourne Marriott!
